Elections Ontario is the non-partisan body that governs Ontario Elections to ensure they are fair and democratic.

The Working Families Coalition, a Liberal Party of Ontario front, is in trouble with Elections Ontario. To date: two problem areas have caused the Coalition problems with Elections Ontario: Its name and the fact it is a Liberal Party front.

Our intent is to use this site to educate you so that you can compose even more letters to Elections Ontario and cause the Coalition even more problems. Read more below:

Round 1: WFC Name Change Ordered by Elections Ontario

As reported by the Toronto Star on Sept. 1, Elections Ontario has ordered the WFC to change its name because voters might confuse the union-funded group with the Family Coalition Party.

The Star reports that the WFC has been warned that Elections Ontario will not register the group as a "third party" under the Working Families name. Without "third party registration the Coalition cannot legally run political advertising once the writ for the Ontario Election has been dropped on Sept. 10.

The Star reports that "Working Families' lawyer Paul Cavalluzzo said he plans to "vigorously defend against" the order, which would effectively force the withdrawal of millions of dollars in TV advertising and websites. Cavalluzzo noted that Working Families mounted a similar campaign opposing the Conservatives during the 2003 election and no issues were raised with Elections Ontario."

WorkingFamiliesWatch.ca will be closely monitoring this case. PC Party of Ontario slam WFC:

WorkingFamiliesCoaltionWatch.ca is closely monitoring the results from the PC Party of Ontario's Aug. 23 complaint to Elections Ontario.

In the letter, the Tories asked Elections Ontario to probe the very close connections between the Liberals and the Coalition.
